Today, we need to get a bit of humour into our riding day, so why not visit the town of "Fucking" in Austria?
After a few childish giggles, we head north into Germany and along the German/Czechia boarder.

Heading SE through the roads become more winding and the landscape more scenic. Some time during the morning when we pass a supermarket, we stop off to buy lunch to help with keeping the budget down. Its not every day that we will stop at a restaurant for lunch :)

Between the hours of 11:00 and 13:00 we are on the look out for a nice park or grassy lay by to stop off for lunch.

We meet at Cirkle K petrol station Tappernøj services at 5:30 o'clock in the morning where we gather in anticipation with coffee until everyone arrives.
Ferry
You will need to buy a one way ticket for the 07:15 Rødby-Puttarden crossing at this link here. You can pay on site, but they put an extra 75kr surcharge for the privalige.
The ferry is scheduled to arrive at Puttgarden at 08:00.
Once in Germany, the route takes us on a short burst on the motorway and we pull in at the first German filling station 168km later. Just down the road we take the exit where we meet up with
Meeting (Krister)
We meet at the Aral petrol station in Reinfeld 09:30 and from here we won't see motorways again for the next 15 days or so. Until then its all the B-roads we can find.
Lunch
Between the hours of 11:00 and 13:00 we are on the look out for a nice cafe or similar to stop off for lunch. A fuel stop in this time period is in a town which should have ample lunch possibilities :)
A nice afternoon ride
Our goal for today is to get past the flatlands of northern Germany, so after lunch we take a nice ride in the afternoon in a general southern direction. By the time we get to 17:00 we are close to our first hotel and we refill the bikes ready for tomorrow.

Completing the final part of Stelvio nation park, we head into yet another national park, i.e. Adamello-Brenta. Today we continue the wonderful roads of northern alpine Italy and head towards our base hotel for three nights.
Here we can explore the area for a couple of days or just relax in the hotel and enjoy all its wellness facilities. Link to the hotel's website, and a price list over wellness services coming soon.

Switzerland is known for its beauty, so today we will take in the scenery, some good pictures and we take in our first four alpine passes. Furka, Nufene, San Bernardino and Spluga passes

Today we will be crossing the boarder between Switzerland and Italy 5 times, even though we start and finish the day in Italy. This means that not only will we pass through the famous towns of Sankt Moritz (Switzerland) and Livigno (Italy), but we also ride over three alpine passes.
So the day today will be Saint Moritz - Forcola - Livigno - Stelvio and Unbrailpass.

The B500 is one of the most fantastic biking roads, and today we have made sure that we are going to ride this area, ending just north of Basel, ready for Switzerland tomorrow :)

Up until now we have been riding rural German B roads, but as from today the roads get to be more fun. we travel south through the Vognes mountains and our very short visit to France before ending at Baden-Baden, the gateway to the B500 and some spectacular biking roads.

Our first stop of the trip, so there is no departure time. The famous Nurburgring being a few kilometers away, we leave our luggage behind for today and head down to the track to see some racing :)
The track then opens for "tourists" at 17:00. For some €'s a couple of laps of Nordschleife with the bike will qualify me to put a Nurburgring Nordschleife sticker on my bike. Lets see if all that training on Gran Tourismo 6 pays off :)

And finally on our last day of our trip and we'll just get the last of Harzen out the way before we hit the autobahn to get us home. Here we will try out the bikes' top speed :)
Ferry
We found out that you cant book the ferry online 2 hours of departure. Book a ticket online for a one way Puttarden-Rødby crossing at this link here. As we left it too late, i.e. approx an hour before getting to the ferry, we had to pay on site, with an extra 75kr surcharge for the privilege.
Home again
Once in Denmark it is not long before we head our own way and say good bye and thanks for 16 brilliant days.

Totally refreshed from our mid trip break, we head into Austria but not before taking on three more alpine passes Giau, Sella and Gardena. Once we get into Austria, we'll have a go at another pass for good measure which is the well known Grossglockner.
Our hotel tonight is located in Mittersill close to "Nicco's corner" the crash site where we lost a dear friend last year august 2018. After visiting this site, we eat, drink and remember. Rest in peace my friend.

Estimated Budget
Accommodation (15 nights):is a compromise between good customer ratings and low price using booking.com. We have however opted this year for a slight budget and a higher quality base hotel in Italy with wellness, pool, jacuzzi etc and take turns on a single room. 6500dkk - Twins and rotating single room Fuel (5500km): Usage is calculated using 3 factors.
